ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A couple of the dogs in this year’s Puppy Bowl are from a St. Charles animal shelter.
Five Acres Animal Shelter joined 100 others across the country in submitting several of their puppy athletes to participate. From there, the shelter had two puppies drafted to play in the big game.
“It’s an opportunity for us to have a national spotlight and to talk about the important work that we do here every day,” said Jeana Roth, executive director at the shelter. “We save over 1,600 animals every year. That’s important for this community. We’re honored to talk about that in this big way.”
Both the puppies picked to participate in the game have already been adopted from the shelter.
