HOMER, N.Y. (WBNG) – The Homer Police were dispatched to an animal complaint this morning on the railroad tracks north of Hooker Ave.
The New York Susquehanna and Western Railroad maintenance crew located two dogs on the tracks at the bridge.
One of the dogs had an injured leg, and the other appeared to be scared. Country Acres was notified and responded, taking custody of the dogs when they arrived.
Officers said they were thankful to the railroad crew that called because the injured dog may not have been able to move for the train.
At around 1 p.m., the Homer Police announced that the dogs, Storm and Thunder, had been reunited with their owners.
