In honor of April’s National Donate Life Month, the University Police Department – Northern Command has partnered with Nevada Donor Network to host the three “Dogs, Donuts & Donate Life” flag raising and donor registration drive events at local college campuses.
Inspired by the agency’s facility dog, Aspen, and their K-9 officers, the event will feature appearances by several K-9 officers from other local agencies, free donuts for those who attend, and the opportunity to register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor hero.
Each event will begin with a ceremonial flag raising of the Donate Life flag by the University Police Department – Northern Command Honor Guard, followed by the registration drive. Along with first responder facility dogs and K-9 officers, students from health-related organizations will be on hand to share information and Nevada Donor Network will discuss donor registration with attendees.
The first ceremony is on April 8th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the University of Nevada, Reno campus at the Joe Crowley Student Union located at 1664 N. Virginia Street.
The next ceremony will be on April 22nd, also beginning at 8:30 a.m., and held on the Western Nevada College Bristlecone Building at 2201 West College Parkway in Carson City.
The final ceremony is scheduled for April 29th on the Truckee Meadows Community College campus Student Plaza at 7000 Dandini Blvd. This Ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m.
