WOOSTER, Ohio (WOIO) – Athena has spent more than half her life hoping to find a “fur-ever” family, and she’s waiting for you at the Wayne County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.
She came to WCDS on April 9, 2022, and July 19 marks her 832nd day in their care.
Athena’s nicknames at the shelter are “Sweet Cheeks,” “Pretty Girl,” “Diva” and “Tater Tot.”
She is 4 years old, but WCDS said “she thinks she’s still a bitty pupper.”
WCDS said she is a terrier/pit bull mix who weighs 45 pounds and is spayed.
Her $75 adoption fee includes:
- 5-Way Vaccination
- Leptospirosis Vaccination (if age/weight appropriate)
- Bordetella Vaccination
- Rabies Vaccination (if age appropriate)
- De-wormer
- Flea & Tick Treatment
- Dog License
- Microchip & Registration
- Heartworm Test (if age appropriate)
- Heartworm Prevention
Aside from no other animals in the home, WCDS also recommends that she is adopted into a family with only older and calmer children.
