SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) – On Saturday, a sad story finally found it’s happiest ending.
Obie- the dog found tied to a tree by its collar two months ago- was adopted!
Tyler Regional Animal Care Shelter staff said they took extra time finding the best fit for the pup.
“We set specific requirements and criteria for many dogs that come through our doors because we can not afford to fail them,” staff said of the adoption process. “We can not afford to place a dog or cat into a home where they may be in harms way, or potentially harm an existing animal.”
For Obie, they noticed he doesn’t show any signs of aggression, is good with women, children and other dogs, but is a little nervous around men.
Obie was dumped in the woods back in April, tied to a tree branch by his collar, still tight around his neck.
A person walking their own dog came upon him in the Frank Niederwerfer Wildlife Sanctuary and officers got him out and to help.
