
A dog that bit a 2-year-old child inside a home in Pittsburgh has been surrendered to Humane Animal Control. Pittsburgh Police responded to a reported dog attack around 1:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Moore Avenue in Knoxville on Sunday.Pittsburgh Public Safety said the homeowners called 911 after their 2-year-old was bitten by the dog, who was later described as food-aggressive.It’s believe the child approached the dog’s food bowl before it attacked. Officials say the parents were able to intervene and pull the dog away, but it escaped from the home.The child was taken to a hospital with serious facial injuries but is stable. The dog was found Monday morning in Mt. Oliver. After confirming with the homeowners it was the same dog, it was surrendered to Humane Animal Rescue.
