Dog side-eyes mom knowing she’s safe with grandma in town: “Try me”

Grandchildren learn early that rules can be broken or can at least bend when their grandparents are around. And like children, pets take full advantage of the grandparent hall pass.

Zoe, an American bully, knows better than to sit on the couch, but when her grandmother was in town, she tested her luck. Ignoring any rule set in place prior, Zoe got on the couch and snuggled with grandma, as seen in the July 6 Instagram video posted to the account @zoeandtheboyz.

The dog’s body leaned into grandma. Her paw rested on grandma’s legs. However, she couldn’t fully rest comfortably as her owner kept trying to get Zoe off the couch. The demands didn’t make her budge. She knew she had something up her sleeve: grandma’s special protection.

Zoe stood her ground simply because she knew had protected immunity with grandma in town. Ignoring her owner’s demands, Zoe sends out one of the most iconic side-eyes. The glare spoke volumes, telling her owner how dare they try to ruin her time with grandma.

Zoe would’ve likely listened to her owner if grandma wasn’t there. But because she was safe and knew that she won the battle, Zoe rested her eyes. She got even more comfortable, nuzzling her head on grandma’s chest. There was no way she was getting off that couch.

Meanwhile, grandma had no clue Zoe was silently telling her owner she was testing the limits. She looked completely unbothered. It’s as if she expected Zoe to find a spot right next to her for snuggles.
