Dog shot by police officer in Humboldt Park

A Chicago police officer shot a dog who tried to bite them in Humboldt Park on Sunday night, the department said.

The shooting on the 3600 block of West Division Street happened after officers, who were conducting an investigatory stop, encountered an “aggressive” dog, police said.

The dog then tried to bite an officer, who responded with a shot that hit the dog, a department spokesman said.

No officers were injured, and the dog was taken to a veterinary clinic, police said. The dog’s condition was unknown Monday.

Detectives are investigating the incident.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability, which investigates officer-involved shootings, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
