Dog shot and killed at Apollo Beach Dog Park, deputies say

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Monday night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

APOLLO BEACH, Fla. — A dog was shot and killed after attacking another dog Monday night in Apollo Beach the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office told 10 Tampa Bay.

The shooting happened around 5:56 p.m. when two dogs got into a fight at Apollo Beach Dog Park, deputies said. As the fight escalated, the owner of the dog that was killed reportedly “couldn’t pull it off” the other dog.

This prompted one of the owners to shoot the dog, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies added that the shooter left the park after the incident.

No arrest was made, and there is no ongoing investigation.
