STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two pit bulls were detained by use of force Sunday at Great Kills Park, after a series of reported attacks on visitors and then police officers.
The harrowing ordeal first unfolded in the morning hours when visitors alerted U.S. Park Police that two dogs were running loose in the area, a spokesperson for the agency said Tuesday in a written statement.
