Dog Rule in Connecticut Starts Back Up This April

Dog owners – it’s about to be a great time for us. We’re finally approaching the season where we don’t have to battle through snow to walk our dogs or deal with the negative degree temperatures. For them, it’s always worth it. But that’s besides the point.

While we are excited for the warm weather to start and for our pups to be able to enjoy the sun, some local rules come into effect that we need to be aware of. Have you been enjoying the waves and the sand with your pup during the winter season? That may unfortunately come to an end as beach season is among us.

In general, dogs are not allowed on Connecticut beaches throughout the summer. When does that officially come into play? It looks like April is that month. According to ct.gov, dogs are allowed on Hammonasset Beach State Park from September 30 to April 1. After that, they are not allowed on the beach for the season. They are not allowed at Sherwood Island State Park from April 15 to September 30.

The Audubon Society put a list together of places where you are and are not able to bring your dog. If you’re looking to bring your furry friend somewhere to run and play, this list may be able to help you. While it doesn’t look like any Connecticut beaches will welcome your pup, there are still a number of dog parks that you can bring your pup to play and enjoy the sun.

Once that main summer season is over, your pups will be able to roam the beaches again. The bright side of this? We’re that much closer to beach season here in Connecticut.

Three of the Loudest Concerts I Ever Got to See in Connecticut

After 33 years of working at various radio stations around Connecticut, I’ve been lucy enough to see hundreds of live performances. A friend recently asked what were the loudest concerts that I remember going to. I came up with three that truly blew my ear drums away.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
