What you need to know before heading to the pup playground
With the weather getting warmer, we all want to get outside more. Even – or maybe especially – our dogs. So heading to the local dog park should be a no-brainer, right? But our pup playgrounds have rules to obey and etiquette to follow. We talk with a professional trainer about what you need to know before heading to the dog park and maybe why these hound hangouts aren’t for everyone.

So you want to be a veterinarian
With more American households now having pets than children, demand for veterinarians is on the rise. Citing an increase for veterinarian job listings of 124 percent over the last three years, the employment website Indeed this year named being a vet their top job of 2025. We talk with veterinarian and clinical instructor Dr. Calico Schmidt of the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine about the joys and challenges of making a living caring for animals.
