Dog owners have until January 31st to get their 2025 dog tags

LIMA, OHIO  (WLIO) – If you are looking for a great gift for your four-legged friend, how about a dog tag.  You only have a few weeks left to get your 2025 dog license.   The Allen County Dog Warden says having a tag on your dog is the law and can add some peace of mind if your dog comes up missing.

“The dogs are licensed so we can get the dogs back to their owners as quickly as possible.  Anybody that finds a dog, and has a tag on it, can retrieve the tag number from the Allen County Ohio Auditor’s website and return that dog,” says Julie Shellhammer, Allen County Dog Warden.  “The dog tags also support our facility, our vehicles, our staffing, and everything the dogs need is all done by dog license.”

You can get the application off the Allen County Ohio Auditor’s website and stop in the Allen Co. Dog Warden’s office to pick up your new dog tags.   A one-year tag will run you $22, but there are three year and permanent dog tags available.  The price doubles after January 31st.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
