Pilgrim is a big puppy at heart who has kept a fantastic attitude through a tough journey. He was found near the OU campus in October and no one came to claim him. Shortly after Pilgrim arrived, he began vomiting large quantities of trash, including plastic and bottle caps. We think that he may have been on his own and forced to scavenge for food.
Despite this rough start, Pilgrim has been a good sport about living in the shelter and looks for any opportunity to make you smile. There is a note in the shelter that reads: Pilgrim loves playing with toys and stuffed animals. He truly lights up when someone takes him outside to play. Thankfully, Pilgrim has a special volunteer that comes to the shelter just to let him get goofy and throw toys in the yard. He is so grateful for these moments, but he is more than ready for his forever home.
Pilgrim has had positive interactions with other dogs and is ready for a life of fun and love.
Please call the Athens County Dog Shelter at (740) 593-5415 to meet Pilgrim.
