BLAKE, 5-21-24, male cattle dog mix, ~1yo, 31#, FOUND on SR 13 & W. Bailey Rd, Chauncey.
Blake is a pint-size, cattle dog mix who was picked up while wandering alone in Chauncey in early May. He is estimated at one year old and while he is likely full grown, he still has a lot of confidence to build.
Blake sometimes gets scared of new things, dogs, and people, but he has shown a willingness to learn and trust. At a recent adoption event, Blake interacted well with other dogs and met new adults and kids, all in an unfamiliar environment. When he felt overwhelmed, he retreated to his volunteer handler’s lap and just enjoyed taking everything in.
Blake is eager to learn and explore, but most of all what Blake wants is to feel loved and secure. If you’d like to meet Blake, call the Athens County Dog Shelter at (740) 593-5415.
If you cannot adopt, please consider fostering Blake or another dog. You can fill out a foster application at: https://www.fosdathens.com/foster
