A dog mom knew just how to lift her “heartbroken” pooch’s spirits after they were pining to use the family’s shuttered backyard pool during the wintertime.
Courtney Budzyn’s video of her golden retriever Tucker repeatedly waiting by the closed pool — and later being surprised with a rented indoor swimming pool — has gone viral after she shared the clip on Tucker’s Instagram page @tuckerbudzyn on Sunday, Feb. 16.
“Ever since we closed our pool for winter Tucker sits here heartbroken,” the caption across the video read as the dog sat longingly by the covered pool.
“Waiting for summer to come every single day and every night wondering when he can swim again,” the clip continued as Tucker lay on the ground next to the pool, which was also surrounded by snow and ice.
The words, “So we decided to surprise him…” then flashed up on the screen as Budzyn went outside in the snow to tell Tucker it was his “lucky day” and ask him if he wants to go swimming.
Upon hearing his owner’s words, Tucker ran excitedly to Budzyn and starting barking.
“Come on, we’re gonna go swimming! What do you think? Are you ready to go?,” she continued.

The video then revealed the sweet surprise and switched to a clip of an indoor pool the family had rented at Bubble Puppy Swim and Playhouse in Michigan for Tucker and their other pooch, Tucker’s son Todd.
“We rented an indoor pool!,” the caption across the video read as Vampire Weekend’s “A-Punk” played.
The doggy duo were then filmed jumping out of the car and being led to the pool, before they were captured jumping into the water several times, playing fetch and swimming while holding toys in their mouths.
“I think he liked his surprise 🥹,” Budzyn wrote under the post. “You know we couldn’t bear to see him sad so we rented an indoor saltwater pool! Thank you for helping us cheer Tucker up @bubblepuppyswimandplayhouse.”

Taking to the comment section, many couldn’t help but gush about Budzyn’s surprise, with one writing, “Those two are probably the luckiest boys on earth – they won the mommy lottery.”
“What a good mama you are to those precious boys,” another added.
