Footage of a Jack Russell Terrier in an office that some viewers have mistaken for a stuffed animal has delighted the internet.
The dog’s owner, who posts under the handle @10lb_billie, shared a now-viral TikTok video featuring a tiny terrier called Billie perched on top of a desk, completely transfixed by a cartoon bird moving across a computer screen.
The video quickly racked up 267,800 likes and over 1.7 million views, leaving people charmed by the dog’s behavior.
“Eyes glued to the bird,” reads the overlay text on the video, as Billie stands contently on the table, with her nose almost touching the screen. At one point, a coworker, seated to the right, had to rest her hand on the pooch to prevent him from falling off, because he was so absorbed by the animated scene.
“Billie is back,” the owner captioned the video, suggesting this isn’t the first time the little dog has made an appearance at the office.
Bringing dogs into the workplace can have numerous benefits, including reducing stress, boosting morale, and improving job satisfaction, according to U.K. charity Dogs Trust. They suggest that a gradual introduction to the office environment works best, with short visits initially spread out over several days.
It’s also important to prepare your workspace for your dog’s arrival by ensuring they have somewhere to settle comfortably in a safe and quiet space. Also be aware of any wires and items that your dog might be tempted to chew on or get tangled up.
Jack Russells, known for their lively and intelligent nature, are highly energetic dogs with a playful streak. Despite their small size, they are fearless and curious, traits perfectly illustrated by Billie’s keen interest in the cartoon bird.
Many commenters were intrigued by Billie’s level of concentration.
“Pups learning about the chase,” said one viewer.
“How my manager expects me to act at work,” said another user.
“Why does this dog look flawless,” Microsoft365 said, while another viewer, Matty, remarked: “I thought that was a stuffed animal!”
Alonzo Biggins echoed the sentiment, writing: “Wait! That’s a real dog?”
