Dog left tethered to tree in South Windsor still in need of home

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) – A dog found tethered to a tree in South Windsor nearly two months ago was still in need of a home as of Tuesday.

The Tyler Regional Animal Care Shelter posted to social media that Obie has been with it for almost 60 days.

“Obie is still with us,” TRACS wrote. “We have had two meet and greets, and one no call, no show. With no fault on Obie, they just were not the right fit.”

The shelter originally said that he must go to a female-only home, but it was willing to entertain a couple who would put in the work and understand that it would take time for him to adjust and feel safe and comfortable around a male.

“Obie is beginning to get very stressed out in the kennel and it is upsetting his stomach,” TRACS said. “We need to find him a home.”

Prior vet records said that Obie was between 2 and 5 years old. He was up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered.

The shelter also said Obie has been excelling in his training with The Dogs Will Rise, LLC.

Anyone interested in adopting Obie was asked contact the South Windsor Police Department Animal Control at 860-648-6239.

The dog was originally named Kobe.

Police said he was found near the Niederwerfer Wildlife Sanctuary on April 22 with his collar wrapped so tight around a branch that officers say he could barely move.

In May, his owner, Janiya Bradford, 26, of Manchester, was identified and charged with cruelty to animals and tethering a dog to a stationary object.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
