Dog killed in house fire

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – A Dubuque house fire left a dog dead on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after 12:30 PM on Saturday afternoon, the Dubuque Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a neighbor reporting smoke from a residence on Alta Vista.

The Dubuque Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from an open second-floor window. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the residence was deemed uninhabitable.

No residents were home at the time of the fire, but a dog was found dead under a bed from apparent smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental from moving boxes placed on top of a stove with the burner knob turned on. Damages were estimated to be at $30,000.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
