Dog found in cage at construction site euthanized due to severe injuries

SHELTON, CT (WFSB) – A dog found soaking wet in a cage at a construction site in Shelton was euthanized because of his severe injuries, animal control officials said.

Shelton Animal Control said the dog was found at the site on Bridgeport Avenue on Wednesday morning.

The construction crew made the discovery and brought the dog to animal control. Officials said crew members used their own clothing to keep him warm.

“We immediately rushed the dog to VCA Shoreline when we noticed the back end of the dog was not moving,” Shelton Animal Control said. “Sadly, after giving the dog some pain medication an X-ray was done. The doctor at VCA shoreline told us that the injured dog was suffering from several fractures to the pelvis as well as other injuries.”

The doctor informed animal control that the injuries would leave the dog paralyzed and in severe pain.

“After a very tough decision we decided along with the doctor that it was best to humanely euthanize him,” animal control said.

If anyone has any information on who may have done that to the dog was asked to call Shelton Animal Control at 203-924-2501, then press 2.

“The dog was mostly likely dumped in the middle of the night in pain and suffering,” it said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
