In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Joe Garcia, dog trainer at Dog Fit LA, talks about the benefits of fostering rescue dogs and the importance of giving working breeds a fair chance. He also introduces us to Jelly, a two-year-old Husky who’s looking for her forever family.
Jelly’s about two years old and was found as a stray. She’s amazing with kids and would be the perfect fit for an active family. She’s super smart, loves a good adventure, and needs a home where she can stay mentally and physically engaged, think hiking, exploring, and plenty of playtime!
Joe also shares what it really means to foster a dog. For those not quite ready to adopt, fostering offers a meaningful, short-term way to make a lasting impact. He provides tips on creating a stable, loving environment and emphasizes the importance of patience, especially when working with high-energy, task-driven breeds like Huskies. These “working dogs” often need structure and tend to thrive with routine and purposeful activity.
