Dog fatally shot by Fort Worth police after dog caused serious injuries in an attack

Two dogs were shot by Fort Worth police after a person was seriously injured in a dog attack Friday night, according to authorities.

At around 8 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Odessa Avenue, in south Fort Worth, in response to a call about a dog actively attacking someone.

Upon arrival, officers found two dogs attacking a person. Officers fired their weapons and hit both dogs.

One of the dogs was killed and the other dog was taken by Animal Control, according to police.

The victim of the attack was taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Animal cruelty and major case detectives were notified.
