Dog euthanized after it was shot while attacking and killing a woman

One of the dogs that attacked and killed a woman on Friday night has been euthanized, according to Baltimore Police.

Around 8:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of N. Pulaski St. in response to a dog bite incident.

When officers arrived, they reported that two stray pit bulldogs had attacked three individuals, police said.

A 67-year-old woman and 42-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening dog bites, according to police.

The third victim, 54-year-old Shelia Jones, succumbed to her injuries, police said.

The officers discharged their firearms during the incident, striking one of the dogs.

Both dogs were apprehended by Animal Control.

The dog that was shot was euthanized due to the severity of its injuries. The other dog remains in custody.
