
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A pet dog has sadly died after a fire broke out at a home in north Phoenix overnight.
Phoenix Fire crews responded to the house near 36th Street and Bell Road around 1 a.m. on Monday. Firefighters found a large fire that started outside and had extended throughout the home.
Firefighters used hose lines into the house and ladder crews on the roof to control the fire.
The homeowner was able to exit the house as crews were arriving at the scene. He was treated for smoke inhalation but was not taken to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the homeowner’s dog was found dead inside the home during an initial search.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and an investigation is still ongoing.
