Dog Days of Summer raises $30,000

Two Dog Days of Summer events in the county raised thousands of dollars for police K-9 units.

Reed’s Services Dog Days of Summer raised around $30,000 for K-9 units in Lawrence and Beaver counties, according to Reed’s co-owner Joe Reed.

The Ellwood City and Union Township-based pet store hosted the fourth annual event June 21 to 23 in Ellwood City’s Ewing Park.

The Dog Days of Summer at the Haunted Hill View Manor in Shenango Township raised $660 for the Lawrence County Humane Society.

“The event was very nice. We took our two lab girls Laverne and Shirley to the event,” said shelter Manager Margie Seelbaugh. “Shirley did get an adoption application from someone who met her at the event. Fingers crossed it will be a good match.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
