Dog and deer rescued after falling through thin ice in Ottawa County

A dog and a deer are both safe after both fell into icy water in Jenison, thanks to help from the Georgetown Township Fire Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Matt Wildfong says the call came in around 3 p.m. Friday at the Bend Area Open Space.

The owner was walking the dog when it and the deer both fell through thin ice, prompting the owner to dive in to save the dog.

The owner was unsuccessful, but was able to exit the water on their own.

The fire department dive team safely rescued both animals within an hour and a half of the call coming in.

During the effort, a deputy was bitten by a second dog that was not in the water, but no other injuries were reported.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
