DOVER — Pope Memorial Humane Society – Cocheco Valley (PMHS-CV), an animal shelter serving the Seacoast, is welcoming the start of summer with a weekend full of outdoor fun, adoptable dogs, and delicious treats.
With warm weather here to stay, PMHS-CV is making use of their newly completed outdoor pavilion and event space for a pair of exciting on-site events. On Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, shelter staff and volunteers for “Donuts and Dogs,” featuring baked goods from beloved local business, Lovebirds Donuts. While you enjoy your sweet treats, meet some of the incredible adoptable dogs looking for forever homes. The shelter will remain open for regular adoption hours from noon to 4 p.m.
On Sunday, June 22, from 1-3 p.m., the “Suns Out, Tongues Out!” adoption event will be held. All adoptable dogs will have $100 adoption fees as part of this special summer promotion.
“We have so many amazing dogs here right now — we’re honestly shocked they’re still with us,” said Niki D’Alessandro, animal wellness manager at PMHS-CV. “Anyone who adopts one of these pups will be incredibly lucky.”
