JACKSON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) – Previously, the Jackson County Animal Control found two sick, abandoned dogs with parvo. Just a few days later, the agency executed a warrant on a home, seizing four dogs.
Officials say they may be connected.
DNA swabs are on their way for testing to determine whether the dogs seized on Tuesday match the genetics of the surviving ‘parvo puppy’ Crash Bandicoot.
Jackson County shelter executive director Lydia Sattler tells News 10 that two of the seized dogs are the same age as Crash: eight months old.
One of them also has one blue eye, one brown eye, just like Crash.
The DNA test results are expected back in a couple of weeks.
Crash and another young husky were found in a crate on Nash Drive in Leoni Township last week; both were incredibly sick from parvovirus. The other pup died at an Ann Arbor hospital. Crash was treated there and survived.
Sattler says the seized dogs have not been tested for parvo, but they are in isolation at the shelter as a precaution.
She also says the person who reported the dogs dumped last week is likely the same person who dumped them. The shelter was tipped off by an anonymous person after our story aired.
As for Crash, he is recovering nicely at Jackson County Animal Shelter. Sattler told us on Wednesday, Crash is doing well, he’s even playing.
Crash is also up for adoption.
