I’m sorry, but this is beyond the pale. A video has emerged showing a dog eating off the table in the new Delta One Lounge in New York (JFK) and then flying in its own business class suite across the Atlantic. How long will we tolerate such insanity?
Scam Service Dogs Licks Plates Clean In JFK Delta One Lounge
As noted by Eye of the Flyer, a TikTok video shows a Maltipoo dog (essentially a designer crossbreed of a Maltese and poodle) named Oliver slurping off the table in the brand-new Delta One Lounge at JFK.
Oliver and “Mom” are flying to Portugal on Delta One. The dog takes in the lounge and then eats off “Mom’s” plate, including licking clean a salmon dish and slurping on what appears to be Champagne.
@oliverbelles My review of the new @Delta One lounge @jfk✈️🌎 But seriously…what do you guys call this dessert?! 🤤 #fypage #maltipoo #dogsoftiktok #dogvoiceover @delta @Les Belles NYC
So let me ask you this: what service is this dog performing?
How do I know it is a service animal?
Because Delta does not allow pets or emotional service animals in Delta One on international flights. Only service dogs are allowed.
And because pets are required to remain in kennels, “Mom” is either brazenly breaking the rules or certifying under penalty of perjury that this was a service dog (it is referred to as a “therapy” dog on his TikTok channel).
And if this dog actually performs service, then any dog can perform “service.” Perhaps it is time for every dog owner to bring their “child” onboard and into lounges until we have a menagerie of ticks, fleas, and fur that outnumber passengers. Maybe then Delta and other carriers will push back against the ridiculous federal policy that permits this sort of tomfoolery.
Onboard, Oliver is pictured snuggled up and fast asleep in a Delta One Suite using a Delta blanket. Staged? Probably. Does it matter if it had its own seat? Not at all. Because pets are not allowed in international business class cabins, even if they buy their own seats…
Hey Delta, please ban this horrible creature (and the dog too). You wonder why I focus on stories like this? Because this sort of abuse is brazen and it is accelerating. It’s time for airlines to take their cabins back from bougie dog owners who lie and cheat so that their repulsive pets can fly in the cabin with them.
