‘Dime-A-Degree’ day: Portland Sea Dogs sell tickets based on temperature

PORTLAND (WGME) – The Portland Sea Dogs let the weather determine ticket prices for Wednesday.

It’s part of the organization’s “Dime-A-Degree” promotion.

The Sea Dogs set the prices for general admission tickets for next season based on the temperature at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, which was 64 degrees.

That means tickets sold for six dollars and forty cents apiece.

The Sea Dogs General manager says it’s one of their favorite promotions.

“It’s something we’ve done going back 13, 14 years. We do it at various times of year, so it was going to be a warmer day, thought it would be great with holidays coming up. We typically do it in Spring but thought it was good time to do it,” said President and GM of the Sea Dogs, Geoff Iacuessa.

Prices usually start at 12 dollars for adults and nine dollars for children.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
