Deputies seize nearly two dozen dogs from Mount Pleasant home

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – More than 20 dogs were seized Thursday after the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit responded to a welfare check in Mount Pleasant.

Deputies say they responded to the 2700 block of Rifle Range Road Wednesday following a report from a concerned citizen.

Upon arrival, they discovered several dogs chained up in “unlivable conditions” in the woods behind a home. A custody order was obtained and the Sheriff’s Office seized 23 dogs from the home the next day.

The Charleston Animal Society is caring for the dogs as they continue to assess their condition.

Deputies say no criminal charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
