DAYTON, Ohio — The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center is asking for help after taking in 33 dogs on Friday that were rescued from a local property.
When the center took in the dogs with help from the sheriff’s office, there were already 94 dogs within the building. The center announced that same day that 30 dogs went to a new home, but there were still more than 90 pups at the center.
To safely and humanely house 80 dogs at a time, the center is asking adopters, fosters and animal rescues to help house the dogs. As of now, the rescued dogs are not up for adoption, foster or rescue yet, but many others in the building are.
To adopt, people can go to the center at 6790 Webster St. in Dayton, which is open for adoptions on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. without an appointment. All adoptions are $20, and the adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, initial vaccines, heartworm testing and more.

If adoption isn’t an option, people may be up to fostering. People can sign up to foster online by clicking here, which will outline steps in order to complete the process.
In addition, the center is also taking donations. It said it really needed crates and kennels, collars, food bowls, food and treats.
