Daughter arrested after dogs kill mom with dementia

PUEBLO, Colo. (CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A woman was arrested after dogs killed her mother, who was suffering from dementia.

A Colorado woman is facing charges following the death of her mother, who was attacked by dogs last month in Colorado City.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 76-year-old Lavonne Hoff died after being left inside a home where several dogs were running loose.

Authorities reported that Jessica Hoff, Lavonne’s daughter, left her mother alone in the house. Investigators noted that Lavonne Hoff suffered from dementia and required 24-hour care. In addition to the dogs involved in the attack, deputies discovered about two dozen other dogs and seven birds locked in cages at the residence, totaling 54 dogs on the property.

Jessica Hoff is accused of criminal negligence in connection with her mother’s death and faces multiple charges of cruelty to animals. She is currently in custody.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
