D Dogs announces opening date in Holland Township. Here’s what we know

HOLLAND TWP. — It’s official; a gourmet hot dog shop will open in Holland Township next week.  

D Dogs, which first announced an impending opening on social media in late 2024, will open Monday, Feb. 3, in Riley Plaza at 12719 Riley St.

“D Dogs will officially open next Monday,” the business wrote on social media. “We are having a great time cooking and training our team in the meantime.”

D Dogs will serve up specialty dogs, homemade meatballs, five-cheese macaroni, chili, sliders and sausage bites.

“At D Dogs, our mission is to serve up a tasty variety of hot dogs, from timeless favorites like the Coney Dog and the Chicago Dog to unique creations that keep you coming back,” the eatery’s website, dayadogs.com, reads. 

Specialty dogs, according to the website, include: 

  • The Puppy Dog: Plain 
  • D Dog: Chili, Cheese, Onion, Pickle 
  • Dirty Dog: Grilled Onions and Peppers 
  • Reaper: Chili, Onion, Jalapeños 
  • Coney Dog: Chili, Onion 
  • Chicago Dog: Onion, Tomato, Green Relish, Sport Peppers, Pickle Spear 
  • German: Pickle, Kraut 
  • Frenchie: Bacon-Rolled Dog, Grilled Onion, Peppers 
  • Farm Dog: Cheese, Tomato, Pickle, Grilled Onions, Peppers, Kraut 
  • Wolf Dog: Sausage Dog, Chili, Cheese, Onion, Pickle 
  • Weiner Dog: Chili, Mac and Cheese  
  • Doggie Style: Choose Your Own 

For custom dogs, patrons can choose between regular and poppy seed buns; regular all-beef dogs, coney all-beef dogs, bacon-wrapped dogs and hot dog-free; 11 different toppings; and 13 condiments, ranging from D Special Sauce to Spicy Mustard to Mayo to Ranch to Red Hot Sauce.

The restaurant will be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays.  

D Dogs will join a handful of other local spots that specialize in the American classic, including seasonal Dune Dogz in Park Township, Root Beer Barrel in Douglas and Vee’s Grill and Coney Island in Zeeland.
