NORTH HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – Firefighters rescued several dogs after a fire broke out at Central Animal Hospital on Sunday night.
Crews responded to Devine Street around 9:15 p.m. for the report of a dryer fire and heavy smoke at the animal hospital.
According to the North Haven Fire Department, crews extinguished the fire and carried several dogs outside to safety.
The hospital staff and firefighters said they worked tirelessly to revive a number of dogs.

Fire officials said two dogs were in cardiac arrest, but they were able to save them both.
This incident remains under investigation.
