Covington PD searching for ‘vicious’ dogs in Tipton County

COVINGTON, Tenn. – The Covington Police Department, along with Tipton County Animal Control, said Wednesday they were searching for a pair of “vicious pit bulls” running at large through the area.

CPD said they have verified that the dogs have killed multiple cats, dogs, and and wildlife in the area. They said the dogs are a large, dark gray or black pit bull mix with white marking on the chest and feet; and a smaller white mixed breed, possibly pit bull mix, with dark spots.

Covington police said they could not see any collars on the dogs, and officers had confirmed the dogs were possibly living behind the C-Town Market at an abandoned house on North Main Street.

“If anyone sees the dogs, DO NOT APPROACH,” CPD warned. “Call 911 or dispatch at (901)475-4300 to report their location.” Citizens in the area were asked to secure their pets until the dogs could be found.

Anyone with information on who the dogs’ owners might be or where they escaped from is asked to call CPD at 901-475-1261.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
