Coroner identifies 3-year-old girl killed in dog attack in Roselawn

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified a 3-year-old girl killed in a dog attack in Roselawn on Friday.

Two dogs fatally mauled Kingsley Wright inside a home at the 7000 block of Stillwell Road, according to Cincinnati police and coroner’s records.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s homicide unit was called to investigate the incident.

Kingsley is at least the third dog attack fatality in Ohio in 2024. In July 2024, 6-year-old Jaxson Dvorak died when his uncle’s dogs attacked him in Lorain. In October, 73-year-old Jo Echelbarger was mauled to death by her neighbor’s two pit bull mix dogs as she worked in her garden.

Each year, about 17,000 dog bites are reported to local public health agencies in Ohio. Experts say at least another 17,000 bites go unreported.

Nationwide, 1 million of the 4.7 million people bitten by dogs yearly require medical treatment. Kids under 10 account for nearly half of the bite victims and are overrepresented in fatalities.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
