Corey Rosier grand slam fuels Sea Dogs in opening win

Corey Rosier highlighted a seven-run sixth inning with a grand slam, and the Portland Sea Dogs opened their season Friday night with a 14-6 win over the Reading Fightin Phils in Reading, Pennsylvania.

The Sea Dogs trailed 5-1 entering the sixth but cut into the deficit when Max Ferguson hit an RBI single and Mark Kolozsvary was plunked by a pitch with the bases loaded. Rosier then drove a pitch over the right-field fence, giving Portland a 7-5 lead. Mikey Romero followed with a home run to right-center.

Portland added three runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Rosier and a two-run double by Romero.

In the ninth, Caden Rose hit an RBI double and Blaze Jordan and Ferguson both drew bases-loaded walks. Reading pitchers walked 13 and hit five batters.

Wyatt Olds got the win in relief of Tyler Uberstine, who allowed four runs, three earned, in four-plus innings. He struck out six and walked none. Olds gave up five hits and two runs in three innings, with three strikeouts and two walks.

Yovanny Cruz finished with two hitless innings.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
