Community members and dogs enjoy ‘Tails and Ales’ at Lake Shawnee Bark Park

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Tails and Ales brought dog owners out to enjoy a nice day with other community members.

The pups enjoyed open space and a pup cup eating competition, while residents drank ales and participated in a hot dog eating contest.

Shawnee County Parks and Recreation says the dog park at Lake Shawnee is a perfect spot for people to enjoy the area.

“It’s a really great chance to get your pets out, let them have a chance to socialize,” said Darlene Streeter, Recreation Program Supervisor for Shawnee County Parks and Recreation. “You get to socialize at the same time, get them some exercise they might not have if they don’t a big enough backyard or enough kids to play with. So it’s just a good chance for everybody to get out and enjoy the weather and enjoy each other’s company.”

The Lake Shawnee Bark Park is located on the southwest side of the lake, near the volleyball courts.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
