Decatur, In. (WFFT) – Paws of Adams County recently received dozens of dogs from its county health department. The organization of volunteers is now actively working to find homes for them and for their efforts Fox 55 recognizes them as Community Champs.
Paws is a foster-based animal welfare rescue group. Board member Cathy Hedrick said they are trying to put more than 40 dogs into forever homes.
“The health department contacted us and said they needed help with 46 dogs and at first we were like what do we do,” said Hedrick. “Thankfully a volunteer stepped up and they’re being housed in her barn.”
