On Saturday morning, Dublin Roasters Coffee, located at 1780 N Market St, Ste C in Frederick, addressed a concerning incident that occurred earlier in the week in their outdoor tent area. A small child was attacked by a leashed dog that broke free from its owner. The café expressed deep concern for all those involved, including the child and their family, the dog owner, witnesses, and the staff members who were present.
In their statement, Dublin Roasters confirmed that the young girl is healing and in good spirits. The café is working on a care package to support her recovery and is implementing new policies to ensure safety. The dog owner has taken responsibility for the situation and made the difficult decision to say goodbye to their dog. The full statement can be seen below:
We want to take a moment to address a horrific incident that occurred at Dublin in our outdoor tent area a few days ago.
A small child was attacked by a leashed dog that broke free from its owner.
Out of respect to all involved we will not be going into too much detail as this has been a traumatizing experience for all involved , the child, family, dog owner, gentlemen that stepped in to help, witnesses and Dublin’s staff that were there.
Most importantly we want everyone to know that the sweet little girl is healing and in good spirits . Our team is working to put together a care package for the little girl’s healing journey .
The dog owner did the responsible thing and said goodbye to her dog the same day and is dealing with their own sorrow on this situation.
We are taking this matter extremely seriously and are busy tending to the needs of those involved.
While we are known to be an establishment that welcomes your fur children, we are now only allowing serivce dogs and certified therapy dogs in the shop and on the patio.
Thank you for understanding and supporting all of those involved.
We are asking that information not be shared without knowing the facts out of respect for everyone involved and who was affected that day.
