Clearwater police respond after dog ‘stages sit-in’ in stranger’s car at Publix

In a Facebook post, officers called the dog’s actions “a case of canine carjacking.”

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Clearwater resident had to summon police after a dog jumped into his car and “staged a sit-in,” according to the Clearwater Police Department.

In a Facebook post, police said the dog jumped into the person’s car Saturday afternoon at a Publix at Belcher and Sunset Point. Officers were reportedly able to coax the dog out with a leash and treats provided by Publix employees before taking it to a local veterinarian to be checked out.

“Call this a case of canine carjacking,” Clearwater officers said in the Facebook post.

The dog had a chip but no corresponding information, police said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
