WOONSOCKET – Nearly two years after its grand opening, the Woonsocket Dog Park at River’s Edge has gained a dedicated group of residents that have banded together to improve conditions at the park.
Addressing city officials at the Feb. 17 City Council meeting, resident Colleen Hendry spoke about some problems at the dog park, a week or so after forming a group called The Friends of Woonsocket Dog Park. Hendry and other frequent visitors say critical updates are needed to ensure the park remains safe and accessible year-round, mainly to address copious amounts of mud at the park entrance and safety concerns with benches.
