CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Cincinnati Animal CARE is temporarily relocating some of its dogs as renovations are underway at one of the shelter locations.
The Dane Avenue facility is getting a bit of a facelift, meaning dozens of dogs had to be moved to their new temporary shelter.
Renovations begin Tuesday, and the dogs were moved over the weekend.
Some of the renovations being done to the shelter include trench drains, two-sided kenneling, partial walls and upgrades to the front of the building.
In the meantime, the dogs are now being housed about 10 minutes down the road at the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Record Center, where they will stay for about four months.
The record center is a 31,000-square-foot warehouse, capable of housing over 100 dogs. This location was chosen because it has unused space due to paper records now being digital.
Cat operations will remain at Dane Avenue.
