Chisholm Police Respond To Videos of Dogs Circulating on Internet

CHISHOLM, MN – The Chisholm Police Departments released a statement addressing a series of videos shown on social media purportedly showing animal abuse in Buhl.

Police say they searched the facility on April 15, 2025 and located several dogs being kept on the property.

Officers say the dogs “had access to food, clean water, and appropriate shelter”.  Officers also said the dogs appeared to be healthy and had a place to exercise outdoors multiple times per day.

The police added in the statement the property where the dogs are being kept is not a traditional pet care of boarding facility.

The dogs being kept there are being trained from miliary use and emergency response.  The structure was designed to simulate real-world training environments, different than home or kennel settings.

The building was described as in poor condition in unused or unmaintained sections, but dogs reside in parts of the building that are functional and up to livable standards.

After initial review the police department believed the conditions of the dogs do not qualify for “cruelty, neglect or deprivation” under Minnesota statutes.

The case is not closed, but Police wanted to release their initial statement after receiving many complaints originating from the video on social media.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
