Chilling footage shows the horrific moment a man was mauled to death by multiple dogs who attacked him ‘like he was their dinner.’
Chris Culbertson, 46, was seen on security footage riding his bike around Kansas City when he was approached by two dogs who began circling him.
He fell to the ground and more dogs broke through a fence, taking hold of his arms, legs, feet and face with their teeth.
The group of pit bulls gruesomely attacked Culbertson for 23 minutes, according to his sister Angela Culbertson.
She told Fox 4 her brother said the dogs were ‘trying to drag me like I was their dinner’.
‘I couldn’t imagine being bitten or torn by anything for 23 minutes,’ she added.
After 300 bites, 500 stiches and 100 lacerations, Culbertson went septic and died from his injuries.
‘Just heartbroken. I cannot believe that some dogs could do this to a human,’ she told the outlet.
His sister told KSHB that the dogs had ripped his cheek off, his chin and the heels of his feet.
Angela said that her brother was a dog lover and had previously owned a pit bull himself, she told Fox 4 that he recounted the attack to her and said: ‘ I was reaching for help, and nobody was helping me.’
A neighbor tried to help Culbertson by swinging a golf club at the dogs but when they turned around and began biting her, she ran to call 911.
‘The most aggressive one was on the backpack, and it could’ve been his head or his neck because he was literally ripping him around by that backpack,’ Angela added.
Culbertson’s family are looking for justice, Angela said: ‘I mean, the people that own the dogs need to be held accountable for this.’
‘This is murder, and they taught these dogs to do that and it’s their dogs. So, it’s their responsibility.’
‘I want justice for my brother and everybody else that is dealing with these vicious dogs. So many more dogs came; he couldn’t fight them off anymore; he was reaching up trying, but he just couldn’t.’
Police, the Fire Department and SWAT officers tried to stop the attack using sirens and lights to scare the dogs away.
The dogs, according to a neighbor who spoke to their owner, had been trained to fight other dogs.
The Kansas City Police Department said that teams, including the Kansas City Pet Project, worked together to seize the dogs and an investigation is underway.
