Child taken to hospital after being bitten by dog

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) – An 11-year-old was taken to the hospital Saturday after being bitten by a dog.

According to Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers, the child was playing with the neighbor’s dog when he was bitten.

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment before police arrived on the scene. The extent of the injuries were not known.

Myers said the dog has been quarantined.

The incident occurred on Mobile Estates Drive.
