TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Chiffon is a sweet puppy who’d love to find a fur-ever home to rest her head.
The five-month old female pit bull mix joined Emi Griess from Helping Hands Humane Society in a visit to Eye on NE Kansas.
Emi said Chiffon and most other dogs age five months and older are currently $0 to adopt. She said the shelter continues to see a high number of animals, so they want to ensure they have enough kennel space. She said Friday’s high winds and storm chances had them anticipating a busy weekend, with pets getting spooked and gates blowing open.
Several events will assist HHHS in the upcoming weeks. A cat yoga session planned for March 15 still had openings. Registration details are on the HHHS Facebook page.
Food trucks also are starting to set up in the shelter’s parking lot near SW 21st and Belle, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the organization. In addition, tickets are on sale for Paws in the Park, which is coming up April 12.
