Despite their best pitching efforts, the Chicago Dogs dropped their second consecutive game to the Sioux City Explorers on Wednesday night 3-1.
Neither team committed an error, and the Dogs outhit Sioux City, however Chicago couldn’t come through when it mattered. The one run the Dogs got came on a Chance Sisco single in the bottom of the fifth, scoring Brantley Bell from second base.
Other than that, there was very little offense. Teter and Sisco both collected 2 hits, and Bell, Pettigrew and Kusiak also added hits.
Connor Curlis pitched one of the best games of his career. In 5 innings the lefty struck out 10 hitters, didn’t walk anybody and only gave up 4 hits, all singles.
