Chewy’s Valentine’s Day event aims to boost shelter dogs’ chances of finding forever homes

Chewy is teaming up with the Charleston Animal Society and shelters across the country to launch Dogs’ Date Out, an initiative aimed at pairing shelter pets with their perfect families this Valentines Day.

Prospective pet parents are invited to be set up on a furry first date with a shelter dog through Chewy.

Each date will receive a Chewy Date Kit with toys from the Frisco Valentine’s Day collection, treats, a leash, a blanket, a portable water bowl, an Adopt Me bandana and even a poop bag dispenser.

According to Chewy, this initiative goes far beyond offering shelter pets some much needed time out of the shelter. The dates also provide shelter dogs with enrichment, socialization and a confidence boost that improves their chances of finding a forever home.

Prospective daters are able to apply for a date through the Charleston Animal Society website by applying to their Paws Around Town program.

Singles, couples, and dog lovers alike are invited to find puppy love while giving shelter dogs a special date Feb. 14 through 16.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
